HE:”Revision concerning residential surveillance should be abolished” (Sina, CN)

According to open sources, one of the greatest revisions to China’s Criminal Procedure Law concerns the policy of residential surveillance. Bing He, vice president of the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, applauds the right direction of legislation, however, outcries the amendments concerning residential surveillance. He believes that according to the revised law, the state of suspects under surveillance will probably be worse than in custody. Thus, the cases which should apply the amended article of residential surveillance need to be replaced with detention and arrest. (See article here)
