The president of Mexico is the first president of the world to take communion in public. Calderon asked Ratzinger to keep always in mind the tears of the Mexicans and Mexico as a country. He also hopes that each home strengthen with values of family, no matter which religion or belief they have.

The pope asked the people not to yield to utilitarian mentality that always ends by sacrificing the weak and defenseless. Some of the cheers the people were yelling was “Benedict XVI add me to your Face”.

His visit was full with a parade of State Secretariats, State Governments, politicians, Archbishops, Bishops and the presidential candidates for 2012. It was a quick visit but will remain always in the hearts and minds of the Mexican people.
